{"id":739,"date":"2009-11-07T19:22:17","date_gmt":"2009-11-08T02:22:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/xiehang.com\/blog\/?p=739"},"modified":"2009-11-07T19:22:17","modified_gmt":"2009-11-08T02:22:17","slug":"im-really-slow-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/xiehang.com\/blog\/2009\/11\/07\/im-really-slow-now\/","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;m really slow now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I made almost no progress with nosql stuff and the worse thing is I don&#8217;t know why, it seems I cannot concentrate due to this or that kind of problems.<\/p>\n<p>However, I do spend time on reading all sort of documents, though I cannot tell the exact reason, I&#8217;m going to focus on following projects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cassandra, it impressed me on fail-over feature (built-in replica, auto bootstrap, etc)<\/li>\n<li>CouchDB, there are way too many people mentioned its name, though feature-wise I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s enough (built-in replication, but not replica)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are two second tier project I will take a look at them once I have time:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>MongoDB, it was said this is the one quite similar to CouchDB, but lack of some features<\/li>\n<li>MemcacheDB, it is more like a caching engine with persistent storage, but it could be one of the most reliable key\/value pair DB<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cassandra is done by Java, while CouchDB is down by erlang, I&#8217;m not 100% familiar with either, pity :(.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I made almost no progress with nosql stuff and the worse thing is I don&#8217;t know why, it seems I cannot concentrate due to this or that kind of problems.
